Customs: China Iron Ore Imports up 3.3% y-o-y in August

China imported 108.539 million tons of iron ore in August, marking an increase of 3.314 million tons or 3.1% compared to the same month last year. This figure also represents a rise of 453,000 tons from the previous month, with a daily average import incline of 0.4% month-on-month. The average iron ore import price in August was 95.5 dollars per ton, a slight decrease of 5.1 dollars per ton from June.

From January to August, China imported a total of 845.271 million tons of iron ore, up 44.418 million tons or 5.5% year-on-year. The average iron ore import price for this period was 101 dollars per ton, an increase of 4.4 dollars per ton compared to the same period last year.
